I believe that the time has come for women to take more active roles in all domains of human society, in an age in which education and the capacities of the mind, not physical strength, define leadership. This could help create a more equitable and compassionate society.

When girls are valued less than boys, women less than men, nuns less than monks we face multiple risks throughout our lives – at home, at work, at school, in institutions and monasteries.

There are three key ways to end discriminations: Firstly, Ensure equal access to education. Secondly, Provide better medical care.

Thirdly, Empower women in the workplace.

This project is inspired by my personal experience and deep belief: spiritual education and equal opportunity can transform lives. Through the Jamyang Project, I wish to pass on the wisdom, compassion, and inner strength that Buddhism has given me.”

Human life is precious and fleeting. By making the most of every moment and working together, the future can be very bright. Women hold the key to this equation. Given a little encouragement, Buddhist women definitely have the power to transform the world. The time to wake up is now!
